**ABOUT US**
Nonviolent Peaceforce (NP) is a dynamic, international non-governmental organisation. We work to reduce violence and protect civilians in countries affected by violent conflict and its aftermath through unarmed civilian protection (UCP) and by helping to transform the world’s response to conflict situations. NP implements programming through the deployment of trained, unarmed, civilian protection teams to the field.
NP has been working in Darfur for several years, with particular focus on North Darfur and is now looking at expanding its operations. Working through Unarmed Civilian Protection (UCP), NP centres local communities in preventing violence and promoting positive peace. The NP programming focuses on building capacities within local communities to engage in nonviolent self-protection methods such as protective accompaniment/presence, community-led safety and security initiatives such as conflict de-escalation techniques and early warning/response mechanisms. Secured funding spans several years and offers an exciting opportunity to be at the forefront of sustainable, civilian protection.
**JOB PROFILE**
The MEAL Coordinator support leadership, management and strategic direction to Nonviolent Peaceforce (NP’s) advocacy and communications work in Sudan, leading or coordinating delivery of the advocacy strategy and media plans. The MEAL Coordinator will play a central role in defining the advocacy strategy and media plans, although the Country Management Team (CMT), and ultimately HoP, approves these. The role ensures that NP’s operational evidence, protection analysis, and humanitarian positioning effectively influence policy, funding, public discourse, and decision-makers at national, regional, and international levels. The position strengthens NP’s external profile while ensuring principled, risk-informed, and evidence-based programming that supports the affected populations in Sudan.

- MEAL Programme Accompaniers/Officers.
**KEY RESPONSIBILITIES**
**Monitoring, Evaluation, Accountability and Learning Design and Oversight:**
- Oversee the development of the country’s MEAL strategy in coordination with the CMT, programme team, Head of Programs and the IPs.
- Roll out the MEAL strategy, ensure effective collection of ongoing programme data, and coordinate data analysis and use with relevant Programme Managers and the Program Development team.
- Support and coordinate the rollout of innovative MEAL technology and software.
- Design and manage the implementation of the project MEAL system in line with Nonviolent Peaceforce (NP) and donor programme requirements.
- Design questionnaires, coordinate and implement quantitative and qualitative surveys, assessments, and longevity surveys/studies to build evidence of the impact of the country programme.
- Contribute directly to achieving the country programmes’ strategic objectives and components by implementing an agreed country-integrated monitoring and evaluation system.
- Develop papers, prepare briefs, and write up to management based on evaluation and review results to ensure informed decision-making and identify sub-regional and national priorities.
- Develop an effective orientation programme to facilitate the country programme team and the IPs to understand and become familiar with the country MEAL system/framework.
- Liaise with programme Head of Mission/Head of Programs/PM/TLs at country and partner levels to ensure internal and external MEAL requirements are scheduled and budgeted in every project/programme budget.
- Ensure all MEAL indicators are followed up and reported on.
- Ensure cross-cutting issues, gender, environment, Beneficiary Accountability, conflict sensitivity/”do no harm” approach is incorporated, monitored, and evaluated.
- Ensure a harmonised MEAL framework and systems in the country programme from data sheet collection to the database.

**Monitoring, Evaluation, Accountability and Learning Management:**
- Coordinate and supervise MEAL activities and ensure MEAL framework (indicators, tools, and methodologies) and practices are aligned to standards and compliant with Nonviolent Peaceforce (NP) and donor requirements.
