Full Description

The **Evidence and Data Management Advisor (EDM) Advisor** sets the technical direction for this sector’s work and advises the FEWS NET DST Senior Management Team (SMT) on associated technical and administrative priorities. The EDM Advisor has five main domains of responsibility, including:

- In consultation with relevant sector advisors and SMT, coordinating strategic planning for evidence development, including development of monitoring plans and planning for data/information collection.
- Developing, maintaining, and implementing policies, strategies, and management protocols, in accordance with USG regulations and in alignment with FEWS NET Data, Knowledge, and Learning Hub (Hub) guidance, for data created or collected by the FEWS NET DST.

- Managing and overseeing the DST’s work on data systems managed within the greater FEWS NET project, including advising on technical design specifications and data collection, processing, cleaning, and validation protocols and implementation.

- Strategic engagement on data management and data systems across the FEWS NET DST technical team, with other mechanisms within the broader FEWS NET team, and with external audiences.

- Managing data analysis and visualization systems within the DST domain, including survey data collection applications, ArcGIS mapping, and other systems as relevant.

- Engagement with SMT, sectoral advisors, country staff, regional staff, and the Chemonics PST in order to identify evidence needs in relation to analytical priorities, develop proposals to collect priority information, and to identify solutions to resolve technical and logistical implementation challenges.
