**Job purpose:**

The Advocacy Officer, based in Syria, will support the implementation of World Vision Syria Response’s advocacy strategy under the guidance of the Communications & Advocacy Manager. The role will assist with policy analysis, advocacy messaging, stakeholder engagement, campaign activities, youth councils, and child participation initiatives, ensuring that advocacy work is informed by program evidence, community voice, and child rights priorities. The position will work closely with program teams, partners, and communications colleagues to help raise awareness of key issues affecting children and vulnerable communities in Syria.

**Major Responsibilities**

**Advocacy Strategy and Planning**

- Assist in developing and implementing advocacy strategies aligned with World Vision’s global priorities and country-specific needs, with the support of the Communications & Advocacy manager.
- Contribute to the creation of key messaging documents that drive policy changes at local, national, and international levels, with the support of the Communications & Advocacy manager.
- Support on ad-hoc advocacy messaging and internal Advocacy Response Group (ARG) meetings during emergencies and key moments for the Syria response in coordination together with the communications team.
