Overview of position
Our client is seeking a Senior Project Manager – Infrastructure & Engineering Delivery responsible for leading and developing an electrical engineering team delivering complex infrastructure and energy projects. The Team Lead ensures quality, consistency and performance of engineering output, while coordinating closely with project management, commissioning and operational teams.
This is a leadership-focused role combining technical oversight with team development, planning and process improvement within a project-driven environment.
Role objectives
Team Leadership & Development
- Lead, coach and develop a team of electrical engineers
- Manage team performance, capability and professional growth
- Conduct performance reviews and development planning
- Build and strengthen team structure and capability
Planning & Resource Management
- Manage team capacity, workload and project priorities
- Ensure effective allocation of engineering resources across projects
- Maintain visibility of workload, bottlenecks and delivery risks
Engineering Quality & Standards
- Ensure engineering output meets required technical, safety and quality standards
- Maintain consistency and structure across engineering deliverables
- Enforce compliance with applicable regulations, standards and guidelines
Process Improvement
- Identify inefficiencies and drive improvements in engineering processes
- Standardise methods, tools and ways of working
- Contribute to building a scalable and future-ready engineering function
Project & Cross-Functional Coordination
- Work closely with project managers, commissioning teams and operations
- Align engineering activities with project timelines and delivery requirements
- Support resolution of technical and operational challenges
Reporting & Performance Management
- Report on team performance, progress and delivery metrics
- Provide visibility to senior management on risks and capacity
- Support decision-making through structured reporting
Project reporting
- Reporting to the Project Director
Key competencies
Profile
- Leadership-focused with strong people management capability
- Structured, organised and able to maintain oversight across multiple activities
- Technically credible, with the ability to guide and support engineering teams
- Proactive in identifying problems and driving solutions
- Comfortable operating between operational delivery and strategic improvement
Education:
- Degree or diploma in Electrical Engineering, Power Systems, Building Services Engineering or a related technical discipline. Relevant professional engineering registration or technical certification would be an advantage.
Experience:
- Approximately 10–12+ years of electrical engineering experience, including 3–5+ years in a team lead / engineering lead / people management role. Relevant sectors would include electrical infrastructure, power systems, energy, industrial, data centre, mission-critical or complex engineering environments.
Language:
- Fluent English required. Dutch or another relevant European language would be useful depending on project location and client/site interface.
