SUPERVISORY EDUCATION SERVICES SPECIALIST

SPECIALIZED EXPERIENCE: Applicants must have at least 1 year (52 weeks) of specialized experience at the next lower broadband NH-02, equivalent to the next lower grade GS-11 or equivalent in other pay systems. Specialized experience is experience as a Supervisory Education Services Specialist delivering expert experience in education theories, principles, procedures, and practices of secondary, adult, and continuing education as well as an understanding of guidance counseling methods/techniques to develop an accredited program.
IDEAL CANDIDATE: Two (2) years of higher education academic advising and university partnership management experience desired. Two (2) years of experience administering Department of Defense (DoD) voluntary education (VoIED) programs desired. Two (2) years of experience managing multi-appropriation training budgets and educational service contracts desired. KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES (KSA's): 1. Professional knowledge of education theories, principles, procedures, and practices of secondary, adult, and continuing education as well as an understanding of guidance counseling methods/techniques to develop an accredited program. 2. Knowledge of civilian/military programs, objectives, policies, procedures, and/or requirements in parallel business and industry organizations to administer comprehensive training programs/services. 3. Knowledge of budget regulations and procedures to administer civilian training funds and forecast and oversee resource requirements for facilities, office/classroom space, equipment, and supplies including service contracts. 4. Knowledge of safety, security, personnel management, and EEO regulations, practices, and procedures. 5. Ability to analyze, plan, and adjust work operations of one or more organizational segments to meet program requirements and objectives within available resources. 6. Ability to plan, organize, and direct the functions and mentor, motivate, and appraise the staff of an organization through subordinate supervisors. PART-TIME OR UNPAID EXPERIENCE: Credit will be given for appropriate unpaid and or part-time work. You must clearly identify the duties and responsibilities in each position held and the total number of hours per week.
VOLUNTEER WORK EXPERIENCE: Refers to paid an unpaid experience including volunteer work done through National Service Programs (i.e. Peace Corps, AmeriCorps) and other organizations (e.g. professional; philanthropic; religious; spiritual; community; student and social). Volunteer work helps build critical competencies, knowledge and skills that can provide valuable training and experience that translates directly to paid employment. You will receive credit for all qualifying experience, including volunteer experience.
