## Organization
3iS is a non-for-profit organization that provides information management services to humanitarian and development organizations. Through information management, we help our partners target assistance to the world's most vulnerable populations, and we support local authorities and institutions to enhance their capacities and become autonomous in their internal data and information management activities.
**Position Summary**
The Junior Information Management Officer (JIMO) will support the implementation of Information Management (IM), capacity strengthening, disaster preparedness, and anticipatory action activities. Working under the supervision of the Senior Information Management Officer/Head of Capacity Building, the JIMO will contribute to the production of high-quality information products, management of humanitarian datasets, delivery of capacity-building initiatives, development of digital learning content, and support to coordination mechanisms.
The position is designed to strengthen local humanitarian information management capacities through technical assistance, training, data management, reporting, and knowledge-sharing activities while ensuring adherence to humanitarian information management standards and best practices.
**Key Responsibilities**
1. **Information Products, Visualization and Mapping**
- Produce high-quality information products, including infographics, dashboards, factsheets, situation snapshots, and gap analysis visualizations using approved datasets.
- Develop and update thematic and operational maps using GIS tools, including QGIS, to support disaster preparedness, anticipatory action, and emergency response activities.
- Support the preparation of presentation materials, visual products, and communication assets for internal and external stakeholders.
- Ensure consistency, accuracy, and adherence to organizational branding and information management standards across all products.
**2. Data Management and Humanitarian Reporting**
- Support the collection, cleaning, validation, consolidation, and maintenance of humanitarian datasets and information repositories.
- Manage and update partner reporting tools, including 3W/4W/5W matrices, activity tracking systems, and capacity assessment databases.
- Conduct routine data quality assurance and verification checks to ensure data accuracy, completeness, timeliness, and consistency.
- Assist in the preparation of Situation Reports (SitReps), project progress reports, analytical briefs, and donor reporting products.
- Contribute to data analysis and interpretation to inform evidence-based planning and decision-making.
**3. Assessments, Coordination and Information Sharing**
- Support the design and implementation of baseline assessments, capacity assessments, surveys, and other information-gathering exercises.
- Assist in data collection, analysis, visualization, and reporting of assessment findings.
- Support engagement with local and national partners, including civil society organizations (CSOs), community-based organizations (CBOs), humanitarian coordination platforms, and relevant working groups.
- Assist in organizing coordination meetings, preparing meeting materials, documenting discussions, and tracking action points.
- Contribute to information-sharing initiatives that promote effective coordination and collaboration among humanitarian stakeholders.
**4. Capacity Building and Technical Support**
- Support training needs assessments and contribute to the design of learning pathways for humanitarian partners.
- Assist in the development and delivery of training programs covering information management, data collection, data analysis, GIS, visualization, reporting, and other relevant IM tools and methodologies.
- Facilitate practical exercises, simulations, and hands-on learning sessions under the guidance of the Senior Information Management Officer.
- Provide technical support and mentoring to trainees and partner organizations during and after training activities.
- Support the establishment of sustainable capacity transfer mechanisms and communities of practice among local partners.
**5. Digital Learning and Knowledge Management**
- Develop and maintain digital learning resources, including presentations, user guides, job aids, video tutorials, podcasts, and e-learning materials.
- Leverage appropriate digital and AI-assisted tools—including text-to-speech applications, multimedia content creation platforms, and learning technologies—to enhance the accessibility and effectiveness of training materials.
- Support the maintenance of organizational knowledge repositories and learning management systems.
- Document best practices, lessons learned, case studies, and success stories to support organizational learning and knowledge sharing.
**6. Monitoring, Evaluation and Reporting**
- Support the administration and analysis of pre-training, post-training, and follow-up evaluations.
