Full Description

Qualification requirements in the vacancy announcements are based on the U.S. Office of Personnel Management (OPM) Qualification Standards Handbook, which contains federal qualification standards. This handbook is available on the Office of Personnel Management's website located at: https://www.opm.gov/policy-data-oversight/classification-qualifications/general-schedule-qualification-standards. Experience refers to paid and unpaid experience, including volunteer work done through National Service programs (e.g., Peace Corps, AmeriCorps) and other organizations e.g., professional; philanthropic, religious; spiritual; community, student, social). Volunteer work helps build critical competencies; knowledge, and skills and can provide valuable training and experience that translates directly to paid employment. You will receive credit for all qualifying experience, including volunteer experience.

Basic Requirement: Undergraduate and Graduate Education: Major study -- engineering, industrial arts, property management, or business administration. or Specialized Experience: An example of experience is managing a maintenance program for office or apartment building complexes, hospitals, recreation facilities, military, or other special-purpose installations, including planning maintenance activities, and developing preventive maintenance programs. In addition to meeting the basic requirement above, to qualify for this position you must also meet the specialized experience related to this position listed below. Qualifying experience for this position at the GS-12 grade level includes one year of specialized experience equivalent to GS-11 which is directly related to the work of this position and which has equipped the applicant with the knowledge, skills, and abilities to perform successfully the duties of the position. For this position, specialized experience is coordinating and overseeing various programs and projects in support of Facilities Services; managing procurement, projects, and contracts for these and other programs; managing budgets and tracks expenditures for maintenance, repair work, new construction, alteration projects, increase in services, and other criteria; developing detailed statements of work, specifications, requests for proposal, and cost estimates; performing full range of Contracting Officer's Representative's (COR) responsibilities as required on assigned contracts; and conducting site studies and analysis of the in-house operation to determine capability and method of accomplishment and provides written and oral presentations. **TRANSCRIPTS ARE REQUIRED TO VERIFY EDUCATION REQUIREMENT** ***Failure to submit required documentation will result in an ineligible rating.
