Full Description

**Anticipated Opportunity:** Seeking Subject Matter Experts with experience in Human Rights and other Areas of Expertise

We are building a roster of Subject Matter Experts (SMEs) to support work related to rights‑respecting remedy and implementation efforts. This work is grounded in procedural fairness, transparency, and meaningful rightsholder participation, recognising that *how* decisions are made is as important as *what* is decided in post‑conflict and culturally sensitive contexts. SMEs with expertise aligned with the UN Guiding Principles on Business and Human Rights (UNGPs) and applied experience in implementing accessible, operational grievance and safeguarding mechanisms are encouraged to submit their interest to this call.

**SME focus areas (we welcome expertise in one or more):**

- UNGP‑aligned remedy design and implementation; rights‑based approaches in extractives‑affected or post‑conflict settings
- Design/operation of grievance mechanisms, dispute resolution, and safeguarding systems

- Conflict sensitivity, reconciliation, social cohesion, and legitimacy‑building through process transparency

- Rightsholder engagement design and culturally informed facilitation; community consultation methodologies

- Gender equality and women’s meaningful participation in decision‑making

- Environmental and social assessment; remediation/mitigation planning and monitoring (especially where community health and safety are at issue)

- Technical specialists supporting acute risk reduction and legacy impact responses (e.g., land & water, public health & safety) within a rights‑respecting framework

- Provide expert review of plans, designs, and deliverables and participate in technical advisory inputs and quality assurance, including targeted cultural guidance

- Support the design of governance, engagement, and remedy processes that emphasise transparency and legitimacy

- Advise on establishment/strengthening of grievance and safeguarding mechanisms and escalation/docum
