Full Description

In order to qualify, you must meet the specialized experience requirements described in the Office of Personnel Management (OPM) Qualification Standards for General Schedule Positions, Administrative and Management Positions.

SPECIALIZED EXPERIENCE: Applicants must have at least one (1) year of specialized experience at the next lower grade GS-09, or equivalent in other pay systems. Example of specialized experience includes: (1) Working with qualitative and quantitative techniques for analyzing and measuring the effectiveness, efficiency, and productivity of administrative and technical problems; (2) performing a wide range of concepts, principles, and practices related to the provision of executive support services; (3) applying research, analytical and program development, and evaluation techniques to coordinate, liaison, and make valid recommendations on new and continuing office services and support programs, organizational budget and security; and (4) interpreting and explaining applicable regulations, guidance, policies and procedures concerning a wide variety of issues, initiatives, and topics that support the mission of the JAG Corps.

OR EDUCATION: Successfully completed a Ph.D. or equivalent doctoral degree or 3 years of progressively higher level graduate education leading to a Ph.D. degree or LL.M which demonstrates the knowledge, skills, and abilities necessary to do the work of the position, if related.

NOTE: You must submit a copy of your transcripts. OR COMBINATION OF EXPERIENCE AND EDUCATION: A combination of education and experience may be used to qualify for this position as long as the computed percentage of the requirements is at least 100%.

NOTE: You must submit a copy of transcripts FEDERAL TIME-IN-GRADE (TIG) REQUIREMENT FOR GENERAL SCHEDULE (GS) POSITIONS: Merit promotion applicants must meet applicable time-in­-grade requirements to be considered eligible. One year at the GS-09 level is required to meet the time-in-grade requirements for the GS-11 level. TIG applies if you are in a current GS position or held a GS position within the previous 52 weeks.

NOTE: Applicants applying as VEOA candidates who are current GS civil service employees or are prior GS civil service employees within the past 52 weeks must also meet time-in-grade requirements. KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES (KSAs): Your qualifications will be evaluated on the basis of your level of knowledge, skills, abilities and/or competencies in the following areas: 1. Knowledge and understanding of information and workflow management, security programs, policy directives, suspense tracking, records management, equipment, supply and financial management systems. 2. Knowledge of Air Force administrative procedures; experience with Air Force budgeting, contracting, and resource management; and knowledge of Air Force military and civilian functions. 3. Knowledge in making travel arrangements and creating TDY orders and travel vouchers using the automated travel system and other systems as required. Ability to interpret policies and guidance and develop organizational guidelines, supplements, and procedures. 4. Skill in researching, analyzing and resolving problems and issues quickly and accurately as they relate to Air Force requisitioning and purchasing systems. Ability to communicate effectively, both orally and in writing. Extensive working knowledge of computer information systems, including the Microsoft Office suite, is necessary to input and retrieve information from both internal and external automated databases and systems quickly and accurately. 5. Working knowledge of the organizational structure, including directorates and divisions, of The Judge Advocate General's Corps and an understanding of the hierarchy and functions of offices within AF/JA, AFLOA, and the JAG Corps offices within MAJCOMs, NAFs, and at Air Force installations. 6. Ability to interface/coordinate with other JAG Corps, Air Staff and Pentagon offices, including those of other services and government agencies. Serve as trusted agent. Incumbent will be trusted with highly sensitive (and often classified information). They must protect the information in an appropriate fashion. PART-TIME OR UNPAID EXPERIENCE: Credit will be given for appropriate unpaid and or part-time work. You must clearly identify the duties and responsibilities in each position held and the total number of hours per week.

VOLUNTEER WORK EXPERIENCE: Refers to paid and unpaid experience, including volunteer work done through National Service Programs (i.e., Peace Corps, AmeriCorps) and other organizations (e.g., professional; philanthropic; religious; spiritual; community; student and social). Volunteer work helps build critical competencies, knowledge and skills that can provide valuable training and experience that translates directly to paid employment. You will receive credit for all qualifying experience, including volunteer experience.
