We work closely with major global partners - including governments, international financial institutions, and UN agencies - to deliver a wide range of services, such as project management, fund management, hosting services, and HR support. **About the Country/Multi-Country Office** The New York Portfolios Office (NYPO) manages UNOPS' New York-based portfolios, delivering project and programme management, procurement, HR, and financial services to global partners, from the UN Secretariat to Member States. NYPO strategically positions UNOPS with these partners, fostering collaboration to achieve growth and leveraging expertise in global portfolio design and implementation. We support the broader SDGs and 2030 Agenda, primarily assisting the UN Secretariat and other New York-based UN entities with a global reach. NYPO encompasses the Peace and Security Cluster (PSC), focusing on explosive threat management, and the Sustainable Development Cluster (SDC), providing diverse operational support to the UN system in New York. **Role Purpose** The Assets and Logistics Associate plays a vital role in ensuring the operational integrity and accountability of organizational resources. This position is responsible for the end-to-end lifecycle management of assets—including receipt, registration, maintenance, and disposal—while overseeing critical logistics such as fleet management, fuel tracking, and facility inspections **Functions / Key Results Expected** 1. Assets and Inventory Management • Inspect all new equipment & supplies, and collaborate with procurement and finance to ensure that RIR (Receipt and Inspection Report) are completed accurately and in a timelyManner; • Register all new assets in the UNOPS PSC asset management system (WASP) and oU; • Ensure that all assets are tagged with a barcode; • Track all assets throughout their lifespan and ensure that the asset management system is up to date; • Ensure all relevant documentation is completed and the Asset Management Database is consistently up to date; • Ensure that required maintenance of assets is conducted as required;\ • Coordinate full annual asset verification & inspection, as well as multiple random spot checks, and provide required support in data collection and analysis, necessary for the preparation of UNMAS and UNOPS assets reports; • Regularly conduct the Master Equipment List (MEL) checks for assets provided by contractors in relation with contracts, in coordination with the contract manager and operations; • Establish Right of Use (ROU) for UNOPS assets issued to contractors or any other stakeholders and share the document with the contract management officer. Conduct inspection upon the return of these assets, and notify management of any damages; • Prepare the list of assets for disposal and required paperwork, and conduct asset disposal activities; • In coordination with the Local Security Assistant, ensure that all security related equipment and supplies are functioning, properly allocated and up to date; • Assist in the planning of office supplies requirements; • Assist in the preparation of the expendables report; • Maintain and ensure assets and inventory stores are kept orderly, neat and tidy; 2. Logistics and Fleet Management • Implement and maintain a system for UNMAS and UNOPS PSC Syria personnel to book vehicle trips, including the assignment of appropriate drivers and vehicles; • Ensure vehicles and generator(s) adhere to the recommended maintenance schedule. Maintain accurate records of all past maintenance and repairs. • Verify that all vehicles are fully operational and properly equipped before undertaking any mission. • Ensure drivers accurately log all vehicle usage. • Manage the fuel supply for both vehicles and generator(s), meticulously tracking fuel consumption. • Act as Operations Advance custodian for supplies, commodities and fuel as required; • Conduct inspections of the office facilities and recommend maintenance and repairs of facilities if required; • Assist with custom clearance of equipment in coordination with procurement; 3. Knowledge Building and Knowledge Sharing • Provide sound contributions to UNOPS PSC by synthesizing lessons learned and disseminating best practices in the relevant
