**About the Role**
- **Part time role for initial 3 months with potential to transition into a full – time role**
- **Contract duration 12 months, with the option to extend for an additional 12 months**
- **Locally based role with competitive renumeration and benefits package**
The Program Officer will play a central role in supporting the day-to-day delivery of the Te Ao – Tuvalu-Australia Partnership on Economic Governance Program by providing high-quality administrative, logistical, and coordination support in-country. Reporting to the Program Director, the role serves as the primary local point of contact for program personnel and partners, ensuring smooth operations and effective implementation. Responsibilities include coordinating travel, accommodation, and in-country logistics; supporting inductions for incoming advisers and their families; facilitating stakeholder engagement and events; and contributing to communications and monitoring activities.
The Program Officer will also support staff safety and wellbeing by monitoring the local context and assisting with access to services, helping ensure the program operates efficiently, safely, and in alignment with its intended outcomes.
This is a locally engaged position, initially offered on a part-time basis (three days per week) for the first three months, with the potential to transition to a full-time role subject to performance and program requirements.

**About You**
This role requires strong analytical skills and the ability to apply sound judgement to achieve practical outcomes, including the confidence to engage and negotiate effectively with stakeholders. The ideal candidate will bring demonstrated experience or a strong understanding of the Tuvalu context, alongside an appreciation of cross-cutting development issues such as gender equality, anti-corruption, and disability inclusion. Excellent communication skills, including clear and concise report writing, are highly desirable. Prior exposure to government or public sector settings in small Pacific contexts will be an advantage
