We are currently recruiting a **Country Director** to Lead our **Palestine** team.
This is a full-time position, based in **Amman, Jordan, with frequent travel.**

We work in 14 countries across Africa, Asia, and the Middle East, providing Health and Nutrition, WASH (Water, Sanitation, and Hygiene), Education and Livelihoods programming that creates the foundation for community resilience.
**About the Opportunity**
**The Country Director is responsible for the Palestine mission overall, including high-level representation, fundraising and program development, strategic planning, risk and access management, program quality, administrative processes, security, and all other aspects vital to ensure the health of the mission**. The Country Director must be extremely dynamic, maintain the ability to work on both macro/ strategic and micro/ detail-oriented issues simultaneously, and have strong communication skills in order to work effectively with internal actors at all levels of the organization and external factors including but not limited to donors, government institutions, U.N. agencies, partners and other key stakeholders.
**Given the complicated operational dynamics, experience working in Palestine within a leadership role will be highly prioritized.**
**Your Responsibilities**
This role includes the following responsibilities.
- **Program delivery & risk management:** Oversee project implementation, ensure programs are on time and budget, maintain compliance and financial transparency, monitor performance, and integrate risk and security considerations throughout.
- **Safety & security oversight:** Lead staff safety and security efforts, maintain and update security plans, ensure compliance with protocols, liaise with global security teams, and promote a strong duty-of-care culture.
- **Team leadership & HR management:** Manage and support staff performance, recruitment, onboarding, and wellbeing, ensure compliance with HR policies and local laws, and foster a healthy, productive work environment.
- **Program planning & partnerships:** Track donor trends, identify funding and growth opportunities, build external partnerships, and coordinate closely with internal teams for program development and operations.
- **External representation:** Act as the organization’s representative with donors, governments, NGOs, and partners, manage public image, lead in meetings/forums, and coordinate emergency responses and donor visits.
**About You**
You will bring the following experience and skills.
- **Significant leadership experience in directing implementation of emergency response** **programs** in complex settings.
- Master’s degree in a relevant field (International Development, Public Health, Business Administration, International Relations, or related discipline) or equivalent senior-level experience.
- **Solid background and knowledge of Institutional Donor Rules and Regulations.**
- Solid background and contacts with U.N. Agencies and other international emergency response and development actors.
- Excellent interpersonal, communication, public speaking, and strategic planning skills.
- **Excellent English-speaking skills and writing skills.**
- Excellent and demonstrated skills in team management (structure, conflict, performance management and communication).
- Demonstrated ability to manage multiple priorities, deadlines, tasks efficiently.
- Excellent time management skills and resourcefulness with strong attention to detail.
- **Ability and willingness to travel as needed.**
- Previous experience working in Palestine is strongly preferred.
- Arabic language would be a bonus.
