**About the Role**

- **Full-time role for 12 months, with the option to extend for an additional 12 months**

The Monitoring, Evaluation and Learning Officer will play a key role in supporting the effective implementation of Te Ao – Tuvalu-Australia Partnership on Economic Governance Program. The role focuses on strengthening evidence-based decision-making, performance tracking, and adaptive management to ensure the program delivers meaningful and sustainable outcomes aligned with Tuvalu’s national priorities.

Working closely with the MEL Specialist, the position supports the design and implementation of the program’s MEL system, ensuring timely and high-quality data collection, analysis, and reporting. It also contributes to driving learning and continuous improvement by integrating insights into program delivery and supporting adaptive approaches.

The role provides technical oversight to ensure the MEL framework is practical, contextually relevant, and meets both Government of Tuvalu and DFAT reporting requirements. Collaboration is central, with engagement across stakeholders to ensure a coordinated and effective approach to monitoring, evaluation, and learning across the program.

**About You**

This role requires a tertiary qualification in evaluation, international development, economics, public policy, or a related field, along with 3–5 years’ professional experience in monitoring, evaluation and learning. The ideal candidate will bring demonstrated experience in MEL planning, indicator development, and results-based reporting, combined with strong analytical skills and the ability to apply sound judgement to achieve outcomes.

A commitment to strengthening systems and processes is essential, including the ability to build the capacity of colleagues through mentoring and knowledge sharing. Strong communication and report writing skills are highly desirable, as is experience working in resource-constrained environments, with an ability to adapt MEL approaches to suit challenging and dynamic contexts.
