How can you make a difference?
The Senior Data Analyst Associate will play a key role in strengthening and advancing the GSSC data architecture through statistical and advanced analytics. This is an exciting opportunity for an experienced data professional to work with diverse internal and external datasets to design, develop, test, deploy, and continuously improve analytical and predictive models that support both strategic and operational decision-making.
The role combines statistical thinking, business understanding, and hands-on analytics to solve complex operational challenges. It requires the ability to translate business context into data-driven questions and develop practical analytical solutions that create measurable value.
Responsibilities include developing and maintaining a range of statistical and predictive modelling approaches, including explanatory variable-based models, time series models, and hybrid models that combine temporal patterns with external drivers. The role also involves translating complex analytical findings into actionable insights and communicating results effectively to both technical and non-technical audiences.
A strong emphasis is placed on high-quality documentation, reproducibility, and standardized analytical workflows to support scalable and highly automated solutions.
This position offers the opportunity to directly shape how data is used across the organization and to contribute to building a stronger data-driven decision-making culture within the GSSC and across UNICEF.

Minimum requirements:
Education: Completion of secondary education (high school diploma) is required. Professional and/or university courses related to the field of work are highly desirable. University degree in statistics, mathematics, data science, economics, computer science, or another quantitative field is desirable.
Experience: A minimum of seven (7) years of relevant professional experience in statistical analysis, predictive analytics, or advanced data modelling is required.
A completed university degree from an accredited institution will be counted as 4 years’ experience and will be considered for the work experience requirements.
Required skills:
• Strong expertise in statistical and predictive modelling, including regression-based approaches, explanatory variable modelling, time series forecasting, and hybrid models.
• Advanced proficiency in Python, R, SQL, or similar analytical tools.
• Proven ability to translate business needs into actionable data solutions.
• Strong understanding of model validation, reproducible analytical workflows, documentation, automation, and process standardization.
• Working with large and complex datasets in operational or business environments.
• Strong communication skills, with the ability to present complex analytical findings to both technical and non-technical audiences.
• Ability to balance attention to detail with strategic, big-picture thinking.
• Strong analytical curiosity and a genuine interest in exploring what data can reveal.
• Traits of professional skepticism and a proactive, critical thinking mindset.
Desirable
• Experience working within an SAP environment, with familiarity in navigating SAP data structures.
• Work experience in Global Shared Services Centre (GSSC)/Global Business Services (GBS) context.
• Strong initiative and ability to work independently with minimal supervision.
Language requirements: Fluency in English both verbal and written is required. Knowledge of another official UN language (Arabic, French, Russian, Spanish or Chinese) or a local language is an asset.
