**Support Director for Médecins Sans Frontiéres Denmark** **Are you our new Support Director?** If you are a collaborative and inclusive leader with a strong strategic mindset, and you thrive in leading highly skilled specialists, you may be the candidate we are looking for. As Support Director, you will play a key role in leading and strengthening MSF Denmark’s internal operations and support functions, ensuring that expert teams are enabled to work effectively together in service of the organization's mission. - The Support Director is responsible for ensuring that MSF Denmark’s systems, processes, and resources are robust, compliant, and aligned with organizational strategy and humanitarian principles. The role requires a leader who values collaboration, shared ownership, and constructive support across technical disciplines. - Working closely with the Head of Finance, the Head of ICT and as a member of the Management Team, the Support Director holds overall responsibility for finance, IT and information security, compliance, internal controls, and transversal organizational processes. In this capacity, the role contributes to strategic planning, governance, and institutional decision-making, collaborating closely with fellow directors to strengthen organizational coherence, accountability, and alignment across MSF Denmark. - The Support Director oversees a three-member Support Department, providing clear direction, coaching, and support to managers and specialized staff across multiple professional areas. Rather than being the technical expert in all fields, the role is about creating the conditions for specialists to apply their expertise, collaborate across functions, and deliver high-quality outcomes together in a dynamic, value-driven environment. - A central focus of the role is to ensure sound financial stewardship, effective risk management, and reliable internal controls, while supporting organizational development and digitalization through close cross-functional cooperation. - The Support Director also holds organizational responsibility for GDPR and data protection compliance in cooperation with the Head of ICT, the Nordic Data Protection Manager, and contributes to cross-cutting priorities such as environmental footprint and health and safety. The role represents MSF Denmark in relevant internal and external forums, including within the wider MSF movement. **Key Responsibilities** - Provide strategic leadership of financial planning and budget processes, ensuring sound financial stewardship, effective forecasting, and alignment with organizational priorities - Lead and develop the Support Department, ensuring continued collaboration across specialist functions, high performance, and continuous professional development - Oversee financial management, reporting, compliance, internal controls, and organizational risk management, ensuring transparency, accountability, and timely decision-making support - Ensure effective procurement processes and contract management, promoting efficiency, compliance, and value for money in support of MSF Denmark’s operations - Safeguard IT governance, information security, and oversight of digitalization initiatives, enabling reliable systems and data-informed operations - Ensure GDPR and data protection compliance, working closely with relevant specialists and stakeholders - Contribute to strategic planning, performance monitoring, and organizational governance as part of the Management Team - Support cross-cutting organizational priorities and represent MSF Denmark in relevant internal and external forums **Desired educational background** - Degree in a relevant field such as management, business administration, law, finance, accounting, or IT management **Desired experience** - Proven experience leading managers and specialist teams - Experience in several of the following areas: - Financial management and compliance - Risk management and internal controls - IT governance and digitalization - GDPR and data protection - Process improvement and organizational development - Experience working cross‑functionally at both strategic and operational levels - Experience from MSF or another mission‑driven or not‑for‑profit organisation is an asset **We Offer:** - A strong and trustworthy brand, dedicated teams of specialized staff, and a base of loyal donors. - A central and exciting management position in an internationally recognized humanitarian organization. - The opportunity to influence the development of MSF’s digital approach. - A workplace with a strong focus on well-being and job satisfaction, six weeks of paid leave (5 + 1), and health insurance.
