## **Full job description** **The Opportunity:** The January 2025 Los Angeles wildfires caused catastrophic destruction, exposing the intense reality of urban wildfire risk. In response, GER3 is on the ground executing evidence-based, community-led recovery programs, focusing on home hardening, smoke remediation, and environmental health. We’ve already rehabilitated over 50 homes, but our long-term mission is just beginning. We are seeking a dynamic, highly operational Los Angeles Program Manager to build and lead our recovery initiatives. Reporting directly to the CEO, you will be the face of GER3 in Southern California. This is a rare opportunity to pioneer scalable models for wildfire resilience that will protect communities in Los Angeles and beyond. **What You Will Do:** As the primary focal point for GER3 in LA, you will navigate a fast-moving recovery environment, balancing strategic growth with on-the-ground execution. Note: You will not be on an island; GER3 HQ will fully support you with operations, HR, IT, and fundraising infrastructure. - Lead & Scale Operations: Direct all field operations, procurement, and project management for our home hardening and smoke remediation initiatives. - Build a High-Performing Team: Recruit, mentor, and manage a dedicated local team, fostering a culture of accountability, safety, and collaboration. - Drive Fundraising & Strategy: Serve as the primary donor-facing representative in LA. You will manage current grants, pitch new concepts, and secure funding to ensure long-term program sustainability. - Cultivate Strategic Partnerships: Act as GER3’s chief liaison, collaborating closely with community organizations, government agencies, technical experts, and displaced residents. - Manage Financial Health: Oversee dynamic budgets, ensuring responsible stewardship of donor funds and compliance with rigorous quality and safety standards. **What You Bring to the Table:** - Experience: 7+ years in non-profit disaster recovery, humanitarian operations, construction, or related operational leadership roles. - Leadership: A proven track record of building teams, managing complex field operations, and steering diverse budgets in fast-paced environments. - Fundraising Savvy: Experience managing grants, stewarding donors, and securing institutional or philanthropic funding. - Communication: Exceptional ability to connect with diverse stakeholders—from impacted community members to high-level donors and government officials. - Bonus Points: Direct experience with wildfire recovery, environmental health, or housing resilience programming is a strong differentiator. **Why Join GER3?** You will step into a highly visible leadership role where your daily work has an immediate, tangible impact on vulnerable families. We combine technical innovation with a community-centered approach, meaning you aren't just rebuilding homes—you are building long-term urban resilience. **Work Conditions:** - This is an office-based role that requires frequent presence and engagement in the Altadena/Pasadena area and surrounding Los Angeles communities. - Work responsibilities may include occasional evenings and weekends, depending on community events and program needs. - Collaboration with a multidisciplinary team in a dynamic, fast-paced environment. Pay: $100,000.00 - $120,000.00 per year Benefits: - Dental insurance - Health insurance - Paid time off - Vision insurance
