Recent Graduate Eligibility: Individuals who have obtained a qualifying Associates, Bachelor's, Master's, Professional, Doctorate, Vocational or Technical degree or certificate from a qualifying educational institution, within the previous 2 years. OR Veterans (as defined in 5 U.S.C. 2108) who were unable to apply within 2 years of obtaining a qualifying Associates, Bachelor's, Master's, Professional, Doctorate, Vocational or Technical degree or certificate from a qualifying educational institution due to their military service obligation. Veterans have a full 2-year eligibility period to apply upon his/her release or discharge from active duty. The eligibility period for veterans must be within 6 years of degree completion. AND Basic Requirements: A degree in operations research or at least 24 semester hours in a combination of operations research, mathematics, probability, statistics, mathematical logic, science, or subject-matter courses requiring substantial competence in college-level mathematics or statistics with at least 3 of the 24 semester hours must have been in calculus. (Transcripts must show 3 hours of calculus credit). Courses acceptable for qualifying for operations research positions may have been taken in departments other than Operations Research, e.g., Finance, Economics, Mathematics, Statistics, International Business or Business Management. AND In addition to the Recent Graduate and Basic Requirement Eligibilities noted above, applicants must also meet one of the following: Specialized Experience (Credit for Specialized Experience on resume must reflect 40 hours/Full-time per week for each period of work): GS-09: You must have one (1) year of specialized experience that has equipped you with the particular knowledge, skills, and abilities to successfully perform the duties of the position, and that is typically in or related to the work of the position to be filled. To be creditable, specialized experience must have been equivalent to at least the GS-07 level in the Federal Government. Specialized experience includes: Experience retrieving, evaluating, and analyzing general macroeconomic and trade data (both qualitative and quantitative); and Experience generating data (qualitative and quantitative) and reports on economic, financial, banking or international trade issues to support recommendations to decision-makers. ****NOTE: You must submit proof of your education at the time of application in order to receive consideration.***** Education completed in foreign colleges or universities may be used to meet the above requirements if you can show that the foreign education is comparable to that received in an accredited educational institution in the United States. Part-time and/or unpaid experience related to this position will be considered to determine the total number of years and months of experience.
