We are looking for: **IT ADMINISTRATOR**
**Job position**: IT Administrator
**Job title and functional level**: Officer – Level 8
**Department**: Internal Services
**Line Manager**: Director of Finance and Internal Services
**Work Place**: CI General Secretariat – Palazzo San Callisto
**Mission of the role:**
The **IT Administrator** ensures the effective functioning, security, and development of the IT infrastructure of the General Secretariat of Caritas Internationalis, providing reliable **technical support to staff** and **contributing** to the **continuity** of **operations and services**. The role plays a key part in maintaining secure and efficient systems, networks, and communication tools, while promoting technological solutions that respond to the organisation’s operational needs and are consistent with its mission and values.
**Main responsabilities:**
To ensure the correct functioning of the General Secretariat’s internal network, server configuration and data storage facilities, including user profiles, access authorisations and email accounts;
1. To ensure the functioning of external voice and data telecom connections;
2. To ensure that computers for use by staff are available and configured in accordance with the CI standard;
3. To provide support and training to staff and to ensure that problems staff members encounter in the use of the IT are addressed and solved;
4. To ensure data protection, including daily backups, timely (anti-threat and other) software updates and introduction of new protective measures as required by the development of threats;
5. To liaise with external service providers for renewal or modernisation projects, as well as the resolution of malfunctions and the more complex user problems;
6. To propose improvements and major updates in the IT infrastructure;
7. To supervise the use of audio-visual and teleconferencing equipment in the two meeting rooms as well as during the General Assembly;
8. To provide supporting administrative services.
The IT Administrator fulfils these responsibilities, whenever necessary, with the support and advice of the external IT service provider and in close collaboration with other relevant staff members.
**Profile**
- Formal IT qualification on academic or equivalent level;
- At least 5 years of professional experience;
- Analytical skills, accuracy and conscientiousness;
- Ability to communicate effectively (oral and written) in Italian and English; French or Spanish an asset;
- Familiarity with relevant IT security policies, tools and software;
- Drive to proactively keep abreast of the latest developments in IT and think through their usefulness for the General Secretariat;
- Ability to work effectively and provide quality service in a multicultural environment;
- Demonstrated capacity of efficient, yet compassionate, administration;
- Understanding of, and commitment to, the principles of Catholic Social Teaching;
- A demonstrable empathy and interest in the work of Caritas and being a Christian respecting the faith and values of the Catholic Church.
