**Job Title:** Driver - Kharkiv (Ukrainian Nationals Only) **Department:** Operations **Division:** Transport Management **Duty Station:** Kharkiv, (Kharkiv region) **Line Manager:** Team Leader **Line Management Responsibility:** None **Position Type:** Full-time Nonviolent Peaceforce (NP) is a dynamic, international non-governmental organization. We work with people affected by violent conflicts to enhance their security and dignity through Unarmed Civilian Protection (UCP). We work to reduce violence, protect civilians in countries affected by violent conflict and its aftermath, and help transform the world’s response to conflict situations. **Overview:** NP first established a presence in Ukraine in 2014/2015 working on peacebuilding and conflict mediation. NP has had a sustained presence in Ukraine since April 2022. NP occupies a unique space in the protection response in Ukraine; simultaneously providing direct protection to at-risk civilians and providing hands-on support to front-line volunteer collectives to directly contribute to the sustainability and safety of their actions. **Job Summary:** The driver is a member of the Operations Team responsible for providing transport and logistics assistance to the mission under the direction of the Operations Manager and fleet officer. This includes transporting team members to meetings and other activities and care and management of maintenance of NP vehicles. It also involves assisting with the procurement and delivery of goods for the team of NP as well as any other activities relevant to the role. NP will offer armored vehicle training and safe driver training. **Key Responsibilities:** **Transport** - Follow NP safety and security guidelines for drivers - Keep passengers and pedestrians safe - Treat vehicle properly and avoid damage caused by reckless driving - Keep car in good condition, including regular cleaning - Not to authorize any passenger to travel in the vehicle who is unrelated to the work - Maintain fuel levels in the vehicle in line with SOPs - Perform daily service and weekly vehicle inspections and report any problems immediately **Procurement and logistics** - Assist the Logistics Officer, Field Programme Officer and Caretaking staff with procuring supplies and undertaking collection/delivery as directed - Assist in general maintenance activities around the office **Qualifications:** - Strong commitment to safety and security - Commitment to humanitarian principles (humanity, non-partisanship, impartiality and independence) and the work of Nonviolent Peaceforce in Ukraine - Experience as a driver, knowledge of basic vehicle maintenance **Skills and Competencies:** ***Independent Judgment/Analytical:*** - Ability to manage information with discretion and confidentiality - Ability to set priorities, solve problems and devise practical solutions ***Interpersonal:*** - Flexible, energetic and adaptable - Ability to work in a multicultural environment - Proven ability to build relationships ***Vehicle Maintenance**:* - Basic emergency field repairs - Basic maintenance under direction from the fleet officer - Basic fault finding ***Language:*** - The ability to interact confidently with colleagues in English and Ukrainian language is a significant advantage **Other Specialized Requirements** - Driving license category C1 is preferable, category B is the minimum requirement **SPECIAL NOTICE** Nonviolent Peaceforce is an equal opportunity employer.
