Full Description

The Young Topologists Meeting (YTM) will take place at the University of Copenhagen, Denmark, from June 29 to July 3, 2026. This is an annual international conference and the largest European meeting designed specifically for graduate students and early-career researchers in the field of Topology. The conference provides a structured environment for junior participants to gain professional experience through presenting their research, attending accessible lectures, and engaging with areas of topology beyond those represented at their home institutions. By fostering early integration into the international research community, YTM supports the development of long-term professional networks that are critical for sustained research collaboration. For US graduate students in particular, participation facilitates direct engagement with European peers and senior mathematicians, thereby promoting international research partnerships and enhancing the global visibility of their work. The conference typically gathers more than 150 participants from a wide range of countries and academic backgrounds. The program is centered on graduate student talks, giving young researchers valuable experience presenting their work to peers. Complementing these, leading experts deliver short lecture series designed to introduce participants to major recent developments, current research directions, and open problems across different branches of topology.

The meeting rotates among several European institutions, including the University of Copenhagen in Denmark, EPFL in Switzerland, and KTH Royal Institute of Technology together with Stockholm University in Sweden. In 2025, the conference was jointly organized by KTH and Stockholm University.
