Purchasing Agent

To qualify at the GS-08 grade level, your resume must demonstrate at least one (1) full year of specialized experience equivalent to at least the GS-07 grade level in the federal sector. Specialized experience is experience that has equipped you with the ability, skill, and knowledge to successfully perform the duties of this position and is typically in or related to this line of work. Examples of specialized experience include performing the following types of tasks on a regular basis. Purchasing supplies, services, or equipment using simplified acquisition procedures, purchase orders, delivery orders, or established contracts. Conducting market research, soliciting quotes from vendors, and identifying sources of supply to support purchasing requirements. Tracking and documenting procurement actions such as purchase orders, contract modifications, BPAs, or sole source justifications to maintain accurate records and regulatory compliance. Reviewing vendor quotes, performing price or cost analysis, and negotiating purchases to determine best value for the organization. Resolving procurement issues, handling urgent purchasing requirements, or ensuring acquisitions comply with federal procurement policies and procedures.
