Through strategic planning, enterprise architecture, platform engineering, and core infrastructure management, ITSTO aligns technology initiatives with the Bank Group’s mission and business objectives. ITSTO drives technology-enabled innovation, modernizes infrastructure, and enhances organizational agility. Unit Context: The Network Operations Center (NOC) is part of the World Bank Group's ITS Technology Infrastructure unit (ITSIN) within the ITS Technology Office (ITSTO). The NOC provides 24/7/365 centralized monitoring, incident management, and infrastructure support to ensure maximum network uptime, performance, and reliability. NOC proactively detects, troubleshoots, and resolves network issues to maintain the highest availability of the World Bank Group's Global Communications Network infrastructure. Duties and accountabilities: • Performs 1st and 2nd level repair, maintenance, and troubleshooting of the Bank's LAN and global communications networks, covering network infrastructure (switches, routers) and communication links (VSAT, MPLS, IPL, Internet2, etc.) • Works with internal and external technical support to ensure fast resolution of network and communication incidents. • Supports implementation of Global Communication projects, including link acceptance testing in coordination with Country Office IT staff, vendors, and engineers. • Serves as the point of contact for engineers and HQ/Country Office IT staff during network and communication link incidents. • Configure switch ports, operate test equipment, and use diagnostic software to perform individual tests as well as ongoing performance testing • Connects equipment and runs emergency cabling in Data Centers and Network Communication Rooms (NCRs) • Escalate incidents promptly as necessary to ensure high availability of the Bank's network devices. • Writes and updates technical troubleshooting procedures and recommends modifications based on operational experience • Ability to work under pressure in a busy environment, and deal sensitively in a multi-cultural environment, and build effective working relations with clients and colleagues Note: The ITSTO unit is looking for two Infrastructure Engineering Analysts who are passionate about telecommunications and networking protocols committed to delivering solutions that meet user needs and business goals.
