Conference: Conference on Representations of Finite Groups and Related Structures

This project supports the conference “Representations of Finite Groups and Related Structures,” to be held from August 3 to August 6, 2026, at the University of California, Santa Cruz. The conference will bring together researchers at different career stages, including graduate students, early-career mathematicians, and established experts, to share ideas and foster collaboration. Representation theory plays a central role in modern mathematics and has connections to areas such as number theory, geometry, and mathematical physics. By supporting the participation of early career researchers and individuals with limited access to travel funding, the conference will help build a more expansive and connected research community. The event will also provide valuable professional development opportunities for graduate students and postdoctoral researchers through direct interaction with leading experts.

The conference will focus on recent developments in the representation theory of finite groups and related structures, including ordinary and modular representation theory, character theory, and connections with functorial and categorical approaches.
