**The Orgnization**

Plan International is an independent child rights and humanitarian organisation committed to children living a life free of poverty, violence and injustice. Plan have been building powerful partnerships for children for more than 80 years, and are now active in more than 70 countries. Plan International Jordan is established in 2016 and has programmes in Azraq refugee camp and host communities.

**Role Purpose**

The purpose of the role is to develop the existing capacity of young people in the sector on remote data collection in the area of economic development, specifically entrepreneurship and business success, using a structured survey as an instrument. At the same time, the role will satisfy data collection needs the PMU currently have and will continue to have over several weeks. Following a thorough one-day training, the role holder will perform data collection with Plan past and present grantees over the phone.

**Dimensions of the Role**

The role holder will need to communicate with past and present Plan grantees to ask questions about the status of their businesses and the outcomes of the grants received by Plan. This involves a relatively minimal degree of representation of Plan. This exercise is being conducted for internal purposes primarily and outcomes might be communicated by relevant staff in Plan to external stakeholders. The role holder will only communicate with grantees though.

**Accountabilities**

- Be present for an in-person training on the exercise, its instruments and quality and ethical requirements.
- Conduct data collection using the instruments trained on.

- Apply quality and ethical standards trained on while doing data collection.

- Provide regular verbal debriefs to line manager and share any feedback/challenges in the field.

- Receive feedback and guidance as appropriate.

**Child protection, gender equality and inclusion**

- Ensures that Plan International’s global policies for Safeguarding Children, Young People and Programmes Participants and Gender Equality and Inclusion are fully embedded in accordance with the principles and requirements of the policy including relevant Implementation Standards and Guidelines as applicable to their area of responsibility. This includes, but is not limited to, ensuring staff and associates are aware of and understand their responsibilities under these policies and Plan

**Key relationships**

The role holder will interact with past and present Plan grantees. They will be working closely with the MERL team in the PMU who will be providing oversight and guidance.

**Technical expertise, skills and knowledge**

**Essential**

- 6-12 months of experience in data collection using surveys/questionnaires over the phone.
- Very good Arabic communication skills.

- College degree.

- Ability and will to learn.

- Ability to be present in Plan offices at least one day a week every week.

**Desirable**

- Previous experience of collecting data from grantees specifically.
- Previous experience working with Plan International and knowledge of its entrepreneurship program.
